Zonta Clubs of Melton Inc and Melbourne West Inc helps farmers after local flood

The Zonta Clubs of Melton Inc and Melbourne West Inc, Australia, recently donated bedding, children's books and pamper packs for women through the Aussie Hay Runners. The donations were made in support of local producers and farmers affected by the unprecedented flooding in Northern New South Wales earlier this year.

"It's so sad to see the devastation the flooding has caused," said Zontian Bianca Heaney, who helped transport the goods. "I had to console one gentleman who got very emotional and was so grateful for the supplies."

Other organizations such as the Rotary Club of Melton and Feed for Friends helped transport 1,000 bales of hay, several pallets of hard feed and other donations to the Clarence Valley. It took a convoy of 31 trucks to carry them over.

The Zonta clubs plan to do another hay run in September and hopefully provide more supplies for the women there.
