Zonta Club of Tuguegarao plants trees for Mother Nature

Under the leadership of Club President Maria Olivia B. Pascual, many of the Zonta Club of Tuguegarao's, Philippines, Ozone Care and Organized Environmental Care initiatives center around combating climate change alongside government and environmental agencies.

Both initiatives are a part of the club's tree planting series, where they plant fruit trees and bamboo propagules along different sides of the providence with their partners.

The Ozone Care was duly supported by our Z-Clubs: LNHS and CNHS, Local Government Unit of Lal-lo headed by Mayor Florante C. Pascual, City Government of Tuguegarao headed by Mayor Maila Ting Que, in active participation and support from the Cagayan State University, 22nd Philippine Air Force Reserve Class Kabisig, Philippine Air Force Tactical Operations Group 2, National Agencies such as Philippine National Police Lal-lo Station, Bureau of Fire Protection Lal-lo, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, 203rd Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2 and to our generous donor of seedlings, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 02, RED Gwendolyn C. Bambalan.

To date, ZCTree Planting activities were done through 2022 and 2023. Each tree planting action brings the club one step closer to their vision in establishing shaded areas and creating a bamboo haven, which will soon be a shared community space after few years and will provide a venue for leisure and relaxation along to its huge contribution to minimize the hazardous effects of climate change.

"By planting more trees, we're creating more oxygen and more fresh air to breathe. We plant, and we nurture. The club's involvement will always be felt for environmental protection and environmental sustainability," said Olive.

"We are thankful to the club for making a difference for our environment. Let's express our freedom to planting more trees for our Mother Nature" said the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Lal-lo.
