Zonta Club of Laguna holds blessing and turnover ceremony of its center

On 18 August 2017, the Zonta Club of Laguna, the Philippines, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Education and Lingkod Pagmamahal-SMCL. The document proposed that the LINGAP-SMCL Zonta center is the home of women and girls through the club's Continuing Literacy and Livelihood Education Program (CLEEP).

On 16 March, the club held a blessing and turnover ceremony of the LINGAP-SMCL Zonta Center. The center is a testimony of the club's commitment to undertake projects and activities that staunchly benefit women and girls and address gender equality.

Top local officials attended the ceremony, such as Arman Dimagiula, mayor of Binan City and Angelo Alonte, the vice-mayor. Congresswoman Len Alonte Naguiat and Lourdes Almeda Sese, president of St. Michael's College of Laguna (SMCL), headed the blessing and inauguration. Many Zonta dignitaries also came to witness the Department of Education officials turn over the center to Club President Emma Alon Marfil.
