Zonta Club of Kauai Awards US$15,500 in Scholarships

The Zonta Club of Kauai's, USA, Scholarship Foundation awarded US$15,500 in scholarships to five outstanding young women, all recent graduates of the local high schools.

The club aims to build a better world for women and girls in their community by fundraising throughout the year, working community events and writing grants to provide these scholarships.

The 2023 scholarships were awarded to:

  • Emi Sakamoto is a future nursing student at the University of Tulsa.
  • Kaytin Taba is bound for Hope College in Michigan to become a physician's assistant.
  • Kadee Parubrub was accepted to the University of Arizona, where she aspires to earn a nursing degree.
  • Elsie Yukimura is heading to the University of San Francisco to study biology.
  • Skylar Stewart is off to Colorado State as the first step to eventually going to medical school to be a radiologist.

The club would like to thank the County of Kauai and Macy's for generous grants to support this effort. They are also very grateful for the donations from businesses and private individuals.
