Zonta Club of Fredericksburg, TX gives out 10 scholarships for 2022

The Zonta Club of Fredericksburg, TX, USA, has worked hard all year to raise enough funds to celebrate ten women and girls pursuing education and careers in traditionally male-dominated fields. They also provided another US$1,000 for its Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Award.

This year, the club would like to recognize the following women and girls who all have outstanding resumes and community spirit:

• Harper McCracken, a second-year student at Texas A&M University. Harper is from Boerne, Texas, and is a part of the university's Mays Business Honors Program.
• Bethany Crenwelge from Fredericksburg, Texas. Bethany is a second-year at Texas A&M University studying animal science.
• Morgyn E. Granville from Fredericksburg, Texas. Morgyn is a second-year at Tarleton State University studying physical and occupational therapy.
• Kaylee Kramer from Harper, Texas. Kaylee is a second-year at Texas A&M studying agribusiness.
• Regan Jay Licciardello from Llano, Texas. Regan is a senior at Texas A&M studying nutrition and neuroscience.
• Trinity Minor is a recent graduate of Harper High School. Trinity plans to major in social work and child welfare.
• Madeline McFarland is a first-year at Texas A&M. She is currently studying agribusiness, with a concentration in analysis. 
• Sierra Masters is a high school senior at Harper High School. She plans on studying Early Childhood Education at Central Texas College in Fredericksburg.
• Amie Pyka is entering Mays Business School at Texas A&M University to study accounting and marketing.
• Rylee Welch is a high school senior from Johnson City. She is planning to major in criminology to study forensics science and DNA.

The club would also like to recognize Grazelle Schreiner especially. She is a student at Tiby Highschool from Kerrville, Texas. Grazelle is the club's YWPA recipient, and she plans on attending Texas A&M University to major in international relations and minor in economics. Not only did she win the club's YWPA award, but she has also been awarded the District 10 YWPA award, winning an additional US$15,000. This means that Grazelle is now a contender for the Zonta International 2022 YWPA for the potential award of US$5,000. The club wishes her luck as they believe she deserves this achievement.

The club was able to collect the funds needed for its scholarships through:

• Publishing and selling its "Favorite Foods of Fredericksburg" cookbook.
• Holding a VISA card raffle ticket.
• Setting up sales tables in front of the local hardware store, the bank and at booths during city and district events.

Not only was the club able to raise enough funds for its educational scholarships, but they were also able to spread the word about Zonta and the causes they support. The club spread awareness about its Zonta Says NO campaign by always handing out orange ribbons at these functions.

The club would also like to give a special thanks to its Scholarship Committee: chaired by Cindy Wilson with Bonnie Baseke, Barbara Sherer, Carol Stead and Pam Nabers. The committee has worked tediously to read hundreds of submitted applications to narrow its decision.
