Zonta Club of Alytus celebrates their community

The Zonta Club of Alytus, Lithuania, built a better world for women and girls in their community with numerous club actions.

Planting pine trees
The club attended the annual Green Dinner, where guests could buy and plant pine trees in specially selected spaces in Alytus.

Celebrating Alytus' 442 birthday
The club partnered with the Drevinukas School and Kindergarten to participate in the city's 442nd birthday parade, bringing public visibility for the club and Zonta.

Gifting yellow roses
Since 2009, the club has been nursing a yellow rose garden in the city center. The idea to decorate Alytus in this way came to the attention of Zontian Irena Mazaliauskaitė. On the suggestion of club member Jelena Tucina, the club added a maple tree to the rose garden in May 2016 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its activities.

To commemorate the city's 442nd birthday, the club gave yellow roses to the customers of the Kavos Skveras café, who dropped by for a cup of coffee, thus increasing its visibility.

Goodbye to their fourth-grader friends
The club celebrated their friends' graduation from the Drevinukas School and Kindergarten. The parents presented the school with a book house and the club with a book, The Boy, the Mole and the Horse, by Charlie Mackesy.
