Zonta Club of Bundaberg Inc. Celebrates Zonta's Centennial Anniversary by Advocating for Equality

While discussing a suitable public event to celebrate Zonta International's 100th birthday, it was pointed out that the local Clay Target Shooting Club would be conducting their annual two-day Carnival the first weekend in August. It was mentioned that while there would be a number of ladies competing at the Carnival, there wasn't a specific event being held for them. It was decided that Zontians would approach the Shooting Club and offer to sponsor a Ladies Championship in honor of Zonta's Centennial Anniversary.

The Shooting Club accepted the offer and the Ladies Championship was held. Incidentally, this is the first time a Ladies Championship has been held in Australia at the club level.

Tanya McLoughlin, club president, Robyn Rehbein, Debra Phillips, and Heather Torkington of the Zonta Club of Bundaberg Inc., attended during the afternoon and Tanya presented a Zonta International 100-year Anniversary sash and trophies to the winning lady shooters.
