Zonta Clubs of Palermo Triscele and Yverdon-les-Bains promotes Zonta and UN Women partnership

On 14 July, the Zonta Club of Palermo Triscele, Italy, and the Zonta Club of Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland, organized a Zonta Meets UN Geneva event to celebrate the common causes that Zonta International and the United Nations (UN) share and their importance in developing the status of women worldwide.

The clubs invited Adriana Quinones, the UN Women Geneva Chair, and Berthe De Vos, the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) Geneva vice president, as their speakers. Adriana and Berthe provided information about the organizations' like-minded missions and visions, recalled past and current collaborations and the bonding between the Zonta International UN Committee, UN Women and CSW.

As sister clubs, they held a lunch celebration that awarded Adriana a Zonta Rose Award, symbolizing a moment of shared Zonta Spirit.

Many notable Zontians attended the event, including Zonta International Vice President Fernanda Gallo-Freschi.

The clubs plan to partner with UN Women Geneva for the upcoming 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence and organize joint events across Switzerland.
