NPUST Golden Z Club holds DIY Cloth Menstrual Pads Workshop

On 12 March, the NPUST Golden Z Club, Republic of China (Taiwan), collaborated with students at the Fashion Design Department of the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology to hold a DIY Cloth Menstrual Pads Workshop. The workshop aimed to open the dialogue between a woman and her body and educate people about periods.

Club member Zhe-An Chen spearheaded the workshop. Zhe-An's fascination with the impact of periods on women began with her observation of Taiwan's current environment and society. She noticed that every aspect connecting to equal rights and environmentalism traces back to a woman's body. She believes that to solve some of today's environmental problems, we need to elevate our understanding of the crucial function of the female body, especially menstruation.

Zhe-An also believes that every girl has encountered a similar problem while growing up: the topic of menstruation is shunned and conversations surrounding it is a taboo.

The club hopes that everyone, including men, can further understand how menstruation impacts both women and the environment through the workshop.
