Zonta Club of Cebu II celebrates the influence of women in community buildings

To highlight women's contribution to Mandaue City's development, the Zonta Club of Cebu II, Philippines, held a 10-day painting competition and exhibit with the theme, "A Landscape of Women Who Move Mandaue."

The theme encapsulates the essence of recognizing and honoring the invaluable contribution of women to the cultural, historical and societal richness of the club's beloved community. The more than 50 paintings submitted highlighted how women, through their resilience, creativity and unwavering spirit, have woven themselves into the very fabric of Mandaue. They have enriched the community with diverse stories, traditions and experiences.

By utilizing the visual arts medium, the painting competition celebrated the pivotal roles that women in Mandaue City have played in passing down and preserving the community's heritage, thus making them a symbol of the city's history and traditions. Women have been the movers and shapers, the often unrecognized but powerful force behind the city's progress.
