2019 Women in Tech Scholar receives national recognition

The Zonta Club of Alytus, Lithuania, is pleased to announce that the 2019 Women in Technology Scholar Kristina Dūdonytė was recently awarded the medal of the Order of the Grand Duke Gediminas for her services to Lithuania on Statehood Day. 

Kristina, an active defender of the rights of people with disabilities, was awarded for her merits in ensuring equal opportunities for people with disabilities, independent living and access to necessary assistance. The recognition was given by President Gitanas Nausėda. 

Statehood Day is an annual Lithuanian public holiday celebrated on July 6 to commemorate the coronation in 1253 of Mindaugas as the King of Lithuania.
