Zonta Club of Bologna Due Torri charter ceremony celebrates achievement and advocacy

On 2 July, the charter ceremony for the Zonta Club of Bologna Due Torri, Italy, took place in Bologna, honoring the memory of Amelia Mary Earhart and presided over by Isabella Boselli. The event marked the commencement of the club's activities for the 2024-2026 biennium.

At the ceremony, the club unveiled two pivotal initiatives: "Liber Paradisus" (Women for Rights) and "Women of Excellence" (Women in Work and Social Affairs). Professor Rita Monticelli received the Liber Paradisus Award for her dedication to humanities education and advocacy for fundamental human and civil rights, earning her the title of Honorary Zonta Member. Franca Scagliarini, Head of Work and Welfare, was honored with the Women of Excellence Award for her exceptional leadership and commitment to enhancing the human experience through compassion and dedication, recognized for her ability to bring light to challenging situations.

The University of Bologna's global organizational framework for collaboration with leaders from business and professional sectors was introduced to foster strategic partnerships to address global challenges.

Marcovalerio Pozzato, President of the Regional Control Section of the Court of Auditors, was honored with the title of Honorary Member for his substantial contributions to advancing the event's theme. Isabella Boselli underscored the critical need for ongoing collaboration to foster equal opportunities and empower individuals to succeed.

Lastly, the event featured the launch of Franca Scagliarini's book, "La Voglia di Sognare Still," encouraging all to maintain hope and resilience in their pursuits.
