Zonta Medal of Youth Empowerment
The Zonta Club of Isabela (ZCI), Philippines, recently held the second edition of its original initiative, the ZCI Youth Empowerment Award, celebrating student voices and advocacy across the province through essay writing and slogan making competitions.
Junior and senior high school students from various schools competed in four categories—English and Filipino Essay Writing, and English and Filipino Slogan Making—showcasing their perspectives on gender equality, youth empowerment and social responsibility. The competition culminated in a championship round where 40 students were selected to receive personalized ZCI Youth Empowerment Award Medals.
To make the recognition more meaningful, club members presented the medals during the students’ respective graduation and recognition ceremonies. Participating schools and coaches also received special acknowledgment for their support.
The initiative aims to engage young leaders in meaningful dialogue and action, encouraging them to champion the club's core values of gender equality, education and women’s rights.
