Zonta District 25 celebrates 18th Biennial Conference in Dhaka with historic youth-led panel
Zonta International District 25 hosted its 18th Biennial Conference in Dhaka, gathering members for three days of leadership, fellowship and celebration. The event was joined by District 25 Governor Dr. Zareen Delawar and Zonta International and Zonta Foundation for Women Director and Parliamentarian Chair Dilruba Ahmed, along with Zonta International Board Liaison Phillipa Jacobs Lory.
For the first time in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka, District 25 Chair Nasreen Khan Anni organized a youth-led panel discussion featuring Z and Youth Club members. The session, conducted by Zontian Dr. Rubina Husain, past president of the Zonta Club of Dhaka III, Bangladesh, and former Area 2 director, highlighted the confidence and knowledge of the next generation of leaders. Youth participants impressed attendees by answering all 18 questions with clarity, insight and poise.
The conference also showcased vibrant cultural presentations. During Governor’s Night, Z and Youth Club members from Dhaka performed a graceful and well-coordinated welcoming dance that captivated the audience and earned wide admiration. Earlier, Khan coordinated a cultural show featuring students from Sunbeams, Scholastica, Sir John Wilson School and Aga Khan School. All participating youth received award certificates, and the five newly formed Z and Youth Clubs were honored with award crests.
In this biennium, Khan established five Z and Youth Clubs across Bangladesh, strengthening District 25’s commitment to empowering emerging leaders. She extended her gratitude to leaders who supported her efforts throughout the past two months, including Governor Delawar, Parliamentarian Chair Ahmed, and Zontians Fahmida Karim, Seleena Mustafa, Naseema Akter and Faika Rahman.
Leaders emphasized that the momentum of this biennium reflects a bright path forward.
