Zonta Club of Madison Hosts LunaFest Fundraiser

The Zonta Club of Madison, District 6, presented a very successful LunaFest fundraiser to a sold-out audience on 6 March 2019.  LunaFest is a traveling film festival of short films by, for, and about women. It is supported by LUNA*, the maker of Luna Bars, to promote women in film making and provide a fundraising opportunity to like-minded nonprofit organizations.

The LunaFest event included a pre-event reception highlighting Zonta International and Zonta’s Centennial Anniversary through a display board, handouts, PowerPoint presentation, and personal interactions with guests. After the reception, the guest proceeded to the theater where the movie portion of the evening was introduced by the viewing of the video highlighting the Zonta International Let Us Learn Madagascar project.

The event was well received and very successful as a fundraiser and as a vehicle to increase community awareness of Zonta International.  The money raised through sponsorship's, ticket sales, and donations exceeded expectations, as did the sold-out audience. With such excellent community support and very positive post-event feedback, the Zonta Club of Madison plans to make LunaFest an annual event.
