Zonta Club of Ilocos Norte celebrates United Nations Day

24 October is United Nations Day, marking the anniversary of the United Nation's formation in 1945.

The Zonta Club of Ilocos Norte, Philippines, celebrated United Nations Day with a Grand Parade of Nations. In the parade, each club member represented a chosen country by wearing and presenting its national costume.

The celebration was also a celebration of Zonta's work and collaboration with the United Nations as the largest NGO supporter of UN women programs. The club wanted to highlight Zonta's role in Sustainable Goal No. 5: the empowerment of women and the promotion of gender equality because only four women were among the 850 delegates who signed the organization's founding documents.
