Zonta Club of Alytus brings music and happiness to the elderly

On 7 October, the Zonta Club of Alytus, Lithuania, joined Audrone Venckūnienė, a teacher at the Alytus Music School, and Jolanta Saboniene, an expert music teacher, to visit the Rumboniai Parish Old People's Home.

Audrone and Jolanta played Lithuanian folk music and Dzūkija songs during their visit. The elderly also tried out various musical instruments. One of the residents, Stasė, shared a smile and sang together. Another resident, Adelė, excitedly remembered her dad during the music session and expressed her wish to hear his song "On the Hill, the Maple Tree Stood," which the club fulfilled immediately.

The club parted with a promise to meet again and donated a new teapot. One of the caretakers, Sister Vita, was happy that the tea would be ready faster with the new teapot.
