Z and Youth Leader shares story of impact

Nasreen Khan, District Chair of the Z and Youth Club Committee for District 25, credits Zonta International members with inspiring her commitment to advocacy, leadership development and community service.

Nasreen recently reflected on how witnessing the work of Zontians in local communities motivated her to become an advocate for women’s rights and youth empowerment. She noted that Zontians across District 25 actively engage in schools, villages and public forums to promote girls’ education, prevent child marriage and create safe spaces for young women to lead and share their voices.

Inspired by these efforts, Nasreen began sharing her own story with young people through workshops, club meetings and community programs. Through these engagements, she encourages youth to recognize their potential to create change and take action in their own communities.

Nasreen has since organized mentorship opportunities for girls, advocacy campaigns focused on women’s rights and leadership training programs for Z and Youth members. She believes storytelling plays a vital role in inspiring future leaders and demonstrates how one person’s commitment can influence others to take action.

According to Nasreen, Zonta’s impact extends beyond individual projects and programs. By inspiring young leaders to advocate for equality and human rights, the organization helps create lasting change across generations.

She emphasized that her story is not about personal recognition, but rather about highlighting the ripple effect of Zonta’s work. By sharing her experiences, she hopes to encourage more young people to believe that their voices matter and that they have the power to make a difference.
