Zonta Rose Day 2025

On 15 March, Zonta International District 17, Area 6 (Thailand), under the leadership of Area 6 Director Inthira Sawadpanich, hosted Zonta Rose Day 2025 at the Jubilee Ballroom, The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam, Bangkok. Held in conjunction with International Women’s Day, the annual event honors women whose contributions have created meaningful and lasting impact in their communities.

In her opening address, Inthira underscored Zonta’s mission:

“Zonta International is committed to empowering women and girls by advancing education, leadership and equal opportunity in every aspect of life. Together, we create real and lasting change.”

This year, 12 distinguished women of impact were recognized for their leadership and service in education, healthcare, community development and women’s rights. The honorees were:

  • Ms. Ramrung Worawat – Director-General, Department of Women’s Affairs and Family Development
  • M.R. Nongkran Chompoonut – Chair, Digital Council for Economy and Society
  • Dr. Med. Cleopandh Soorapanthu – Founder, Chaiphruek Foundation
  • Dr. Ratchanan Thatiyanantaporn – Radiology Specialist, Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital
  • Assistant Proffesor Dr. Onusa Suwanpratest – Dean, Faculty of Humanities, Naresuan University
  • Mrs. Wanpen Pongkao, Ph.D. – President, Women’s Career Development Foundation
  • Ms. Wongduean Yapunya – Director, Thanwarat Hair Design School
  • Ms. Supawan Koodkeaw – Director, Central Women and Family Development Center, Nonthaburi
  • Ms. Fah Praneechotiros – Chair, Friends Helping Friends Group, Queen Sirikit Center, Thai Red Cross Society
  • Dr. Phaiwan Lengsoodjai – President, Parents & Teachers Association, Satri Wat Rakhang School
  • Ms. Kularb Chaiyaburin – Deputy Director, Zonta Club of Bangkok I Child Development Center
  • Mrs. Kanjana Somboon – President, Kaennakhon Housing Cooperative

The event also featured the Yellow Rose Tea Party celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Zonta Foundation for Women, aimed at raising funds for global initiatives that support women’s health, education and protection. The Zonta Yellow Rose stands as a powerful emblem of strength, solidarity and service among women—a global symbol of empowerment and the spirit of this celebration.

Monvibha Prachankhadee, Area 6 Foundation Ambassador, shared:

“Every contribution to the Zonta Foundation helps transform lives. It’s about opportunity, dignity and equality for women everywhere.”

A charity jewelry auction by Beauty Gems Group, hosted by Panida Niyomsap Pathumarak, added sparkle to the occasion, followed by a captivating performance by “Ping-Ping” Sorrawee Tanapoonhirun, winner of The Golden Song Season 2.

The event welcomed esteemed guests including:

  • Dr. Lalivan Kanchanachari – Vice Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Zonta Foundation for Women Development Committee Member
  • Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey – UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand

Joined by Zonta members from across the country, the gathering affirmed the importance of collective action in uplifting women’s voices.

The Zonta Rose Day 2025 event was more than a tribute—it was a call to action. Inthira concluded the day sharing:
