Zonta District 31 responds to Earth Day
Zonta International District 31 proudly joined the global celebration of Earth Day on 22 April, reaffirming its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
First proposed in 1969 and officially celebrated in 1970, Earth Day has grown into a worldwide movement, with more than 190 countries participating annually. Organizations and individuals across the globe engage in activities such as tree planting, clean-up campaigns, educational workshops, and promoting sustainable lifestyles, all centered around yearly themes that highlight critical issues like climate change, biodiversity and pollution reduction.
Zonta District 31 recognizes that environmental sustainability is essential to building a better world for women and girls. By supporting Earth Day initiatives, the district helps raise awareness of the environmental challenges facing the planet and encourages communities to take meaningful action.
Every effort, from reducing plastic use to improving recycling habits and leading local environmental projects, contributes to a healthier, greener and more sustainable future. Through its ongoing service and advocacy efforts, Zonta District 31 demonstrates its dedication to protecting the Earth for future generations.
