Zonta Club of Tuguegarao extends Zisterly Support
As part of its ongoing commitment to service and empowerment, the Zonta Club of Tuguegarao, Philippines, turned over donations of quality used clothes and milk worth almost ₱15,000 to the 29 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Tuguegarao Female Dormitory. These donations will also benefit their families, providing much-needed support and relief.
The donations were received by SJO4 Mary Jane A. Melad, Acting Warden; SJO4 Mary Jane C. Eugenio, Assistant Warden and Ryan Tungcul, Paralegal Officer.
This initiative is part of the club's Zisterly Support program, which fosters solidarity among women through acts of kindness and empowerment, as well as Project CloZet, which promotes sustainability and dignity by repurposing quality clothing for those in need. By extending assistance to the PDLs, the club not only addresses immediate needs but also upholds the principles of Zonta Says Now to Gender-Equal Climate Justice, recognizing that sustainable practices and gender-responsive programs contribute to a more equitable and just society.
Through these efforts, the club continues to champion the Zonta's mission—advancing women's rights and ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of dignity, equality and sustainability.
