Zonta Club of Taipei I hosts VIP Zontian Night at National Geographic women’s photography exhibit
The Zonta Club of Taipei I, Taiwan, had the honor of hosting a VIP Zontian Night at the National Geographic Women’s Iconic Photography Exhibition – WOMEN BORN TO SHINE. This exclusive event paid tribute to the strength, resilience and influence of women through a powerful collection of images capturing their stories from around the world.
With authorization from National Geographic, the exhibition showcased 100 carefully selected photographs featuring women who have made a lasting impact. Among the images was a 1932 photograph of Amelia Earhart, the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. A proud Zontian, Earhart’s legacy lives on through the Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship, which supports women pursuing aerospace studies.
The VIP Zontian Night welcomed esteemed guests, including nine club presidents, the District 31 governor, Area 1 director, the district secretary and fellow Zontians. The event aligned with Zonta International’s advocacy to build a better world for women and girls, promoting gender equality and celebrating women’s achievements.
A special thank you was given to Firenze Cultural Exchange for inviting Zonta International District 31 as a co-organizer, providing an opportunity to introduce more people to Zonta’s mission. This event was a testament to the power of storytelling in inspiring change and honoring the remarkable contributions of women worldwide.
