Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley holds installation for Castaic Z Club

On 21 May, the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley, USA, held an installation ceremony for the Castaic Z Club at the Castaic High School Library. Then-president Nicole Miller, Zonta Club of SCV and District 9 Z Club Committee Chair, presided over the ceremony. About 20 attendees, including special guests from Zonta, the William S. Hart Union School District Governing Board, Castaic High School and the community, celebrated the new student club.

Nicole Miller acknowledged the Z Club’s official charter and welcomed them to the worldwide network of student clubs. Dr. Cherise Moore, Z Club Committee Co-Chair, discussed the connection to World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, emphasizing the role of Z Clubs in promoting intercultural dialogue for peace and sustainable development. Castaic Z Club Advisor Jennifer Burrill swore in the officers, and the President’s gavel was presented to Castaic Z Club President Karen Soares. All members received a yellow rose, an official certificate, and congratulatory gifts.

The Castaic Z Club joins three other local Z Clubs: Golden Valley Z Club, Canyon High School Z Club, and West Ranch Z Club, also sponsored by the Zonta Club of SCV. The Z Clubs' advisors, officers, and members look forward to collaborating with the new Z Club.
