Zonta Club of Mandaluyong-San Juan I awards ownership certificates

On 30 March, the Zonta Club of Mandaluyong-San Juan I, Philippines, marked another milestone in its flagship initiative with the awarding of ownership certificates to 23 resident-beneficiaries of the Zontaville Housing Project.

Established in 1986, the project spans 2.3 hectares and was originally divided into 300 lots allocated to relocated informal settlers from San Juan. The lots were offered at a minimal cost, a policy that remains unchanged to this day, with no interest or penalties for delayed payments. As a result, full ownership has taken time, and many of the new certificate holders are now heirs of the original beneficiaries.

This reflects the true essence of service with a heart.

The club extends its deepest gratitude to its Charter members, whose vision made this monumental project possible, offering affordable housing and generous terms to deserving families within the community.

Today, Zontaville Housing Subdivision is a vibrant community, complete with a basketball court, multipurpose hall, chapel, park, playground and more—truly a testament to building a better world for all.

The awarding ceremony was graced by District 17 Area 1 AD Rowena Plan, VAD Fritzie Uychiaoco, PAD Lerma Coling, ZC Antipolo President Engr. Lynn Alegre and three of her club members.

From Zonta Club of Mandaluyong-San Juan I, six members attended, including President Rhodora Kapunan; Vice President and Zontaville Project Committee Chair, Atty. Cecile R. Quintos; Committee members PP Atty. Susan Jacinto and PP Chris Sumbingco; PP Sandra Abad Santos; and PP Dolores DQ Castillo.
