Zonta Club of Makati and Environs holds 4 events in 1 day

On 6 July, the Zonta Club of Makati and Environs, Philippines, held 4 simultaneous events that kept members and beneficiaries active:

1. Empowering Women Scholarship Program Seminar: This event at Tropical Palms, Makati City, focused on effective CV writing and mock-job interviews. Guest speakers included Ralph Locsin and Alex Paz from Michael’s Page Philippines, with support from EEI Corporation's People Team who helped to do the mock-job interview and gives tips for the engineering students. Attendees and interviewers included Carmina Bayombong, Suyin Liu, Martina Santos, Marion Salonga, Leslie Noble and Vicky Wieneke.

2. Ballet Show “SARIMANOK”: Club members sponsored tickets, food and transportation for girls from the Marillac Psychological Center for Abused Women and Girls to attend a ballet show at the Samsung Theater, Ayala Malls, Makati City, providing them with a fun and educational experience.

3. The Little Vintage Shop Bazaar: Held from 5-7 July at White Space, Makati City, this bazaar benefited the club’s service projects. Penny Katigbak and Mel Asuncion organized the collection of vintage items from donors, with help from committee members.

4. Zonta International District 17 Area 5 President’s Meeting: President Joanne Zapanta Andrada attended the first President’s meeting, joined by dignitaries PIP Olivia Ferry and PAD Armita Rufino, who serve as Area 5 Advisers.


Zonta Club of Makati and Environs donates 200 schools bags to youth center

On 12 August, the Zonta Club of Makati and Environs, Philippines distributed 200 school bags, shoes and school supplies to various marginalized students in Tondo at the Don Bosco Youth Center Tondo Gymnasium. These efforts were made possible through the generous donations of club members. Present during the distribution were President Joanne Andrada, Disaster and Relief Operations Head Teresa Tan, Director Marion Salonga and the club staff.


Zonta Club of Makati and Environs promote environmental advocacy through The Little Vintage Shop

The Zonta Club of Makati and Environs, Philippines, is gaining attention with its environmental advocacy initiative, The Little Vintage Shop. Available on Instagram and at pop-up stores across Metro Manila, the shop specializes in sourcing and upcycling pre-loved clothing, providing eco-conscious shoppers with sustainable fashion options.

Proceeds and donations from The Little Vintage Shop support the club's Psychological Center for Sexually Abused Girls, Zonta's longest-running project, now in its 27th year. This initiative not only promotes sustainable shopping but also furthers the club’s mission to support vulnerable women and girls.
