Zonta Club of Isabela advances environmental action and legal awareness
The Zonta Club of Isabela, Philippines, reaffirmed its commitment to service and advocacy through two impactful initiatives this April, reflecting the organization's dedication to building a better world for women, girls, and the broader community.
In celebration of Earth Day, the club reinforced its pledge: Zonta Says NO to the threats of climate change and Zonta Says NOW to practical, sustainable solutions. Partnering with Solutions Permaculture, the club promoted initiatives rooted in the essential ethics of care for Earth, care for people and care for the community.
Continuing its advocacy work, the club also engaged the community through its bi-monthly radio program, Boses (Voice) of Zonta Isabela with XFM, aired via 104.9 XFM Santiago and FB Live. Zontian Attorney Marivic Mira Gonzales-Diego discussed the critical legal distinction between protected speech and online libel, offering timely insights in an era increasingly shaped by social media and digital communication. Her guidance provided valuable knowledge to listeners, empowering citizens to better understand their rights and responsibilities in the online sphere.
