Zonta Club of Hong Kong advocates for women’s equity and family harmony
In celebration of Zonta Rose Day and International Women’s Day, the Zonta Club of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, Service Committee co-organized two impactful events to promote gender equity and family harmony.
As part of its A2A program, the club partnered with TWGHs Cease Crisis Centre to recognize winners of 16 one-minute videos designed to raise awareness on domestic violence and family unity. The event featured a survivor’s testimony, offering a powerful narrative of resilience and transformation, which deeply moved attendees. Through videos, storytelling, and music, the message “Love Yourself” was instilled in all women present, reinforcing the belief that a happy woman creates a happy family.
Additionally, under the Walk the Talk to Gender Equity program, the club collaborated with the HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre to host a talk featuring a speaker from the Equal Opportunities Commission. The discussion focused on the Family Status Discrimination Law and Sex Discrimination Law, with many participants actively engaging and providing feedback.
The club proclaimed, "Let’s stand together for a more equal future!"
