Zonta Club of Greater Rizal II debuts empowering theme song at Rose Day celebration
During District 17 Area 1’s Rose Day Celebration at Bulwagang Tejeros, Camp Aguinaldo, the Zonta Club of Greater Rizal II, Philippines, unveiled its original theme song and music video, “A Better World with Zonta”—a vibrant tribute to Zonta’s mission and a unifying anthem for members across generations.
Club President Shirley Licup shared the heartfelt journey behind the song’s creation, inspired by a chance encounter with renowned Filipino composer and choreographer Andy Alviz. Moved by Alviz’s earlier work “I Love the Philippines,” Licup envisioned a similar piece that would reflect Zonta’s values and amplify its message. What followed was a three-month creative collaboration filled with coordination, weather challenges and tireless planning—but above all, passion.
The launch was met with admiration from fellow Zontians, dignitaries, and club leaders from across Area 1, including Zonta International Director Ofelia Bautista and Area Director Rowena Plan. Attendees praised the song and video as “one of a kind,” and “something that has never been done before.”
More than a performance, the project was a bold step in expanding Zonta’s visibility and influence. The theme song and music video serve as tools to educate, inspire and unify, conveying Zonta’s core mission to empower women and girls through a powerful blend of music and visual storytelling.
The club invites other Zonta clubs locally and internationally to use and share the theme song. “It’s something that can be passed on from generation to generation,” Shirley said.
