Zonta Club of Fredericksburg, TX participates in WASP dedication program

The Zonta Club of Fredericksburg, TX, USA, was honored to participate in the dedication program of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) plaque at the National Museum of the Pacific War, marking what many consider a pinnacle achievement in the club’s history.

Designed by club members Vicki Taylor, Lindy Seagall—whose mother was a WASP—and Stephanie Hagee, the plaque was gifted by the club to the museum as a tribute to the courageous women who served during World War II. Among the displayed memorabilia were 38 yellow roses, honoring the 38 female pilots who lost their lives in service.

The program was both informative and inspiring, culminating in a walk down the museum’s sidewalk of plaques to view the club’s tribute. The event also highlighted the legacy of the WASPs, who were posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in 2010.

Special recognition was given to Lindy Seagall for donating memorabilia from his mother and other WASPs to the museum, as well as to the Hill Country 99’s, who announced plans for a future scholarship supporting women pilots in the area.

Following the dedication, a celebratory reception was hosted at the home of Vicki Fulbright, bringing a meaningful conclusion to this historic event.
