Zonta Club of Cebu I honors policewomen for International Women's Day
The Zonta Club of Cebu I, Philippines, proudly celebrated International Women’s Day and the Philippines’ Women’s Month by honoring the dedicated police women of the Philippine National Police (PNP) at a heartwarming event held in partnership with the PNP Regional Office 7 and the Cebu City Police Office. This initiative recognized the hard work and empowerment of female officers, showcasing their significant contributions to public safety and community service. The gathering provided an engaging atmosphere where participants, alongside Zontians, enjoyed some fun games and delightful song performances.
Club President Melita Ramos emphasized the club’s unwavering commitment to empowering women in all fields, echoing sentiments shared by former Area Director Tess Chan. The celebration featured a special performance by Zontian Leigh Ramos, whose enchanting voice captivated the audience, creating a warm and uplifting ambiance. Each police woman in attendance was presented with purple roses, symbolizing empowerment, alongside handcrafted wallets as tokens of appreciation for their service and dedication.
The event concluded with heartfelt messages that resonated with gratitude and encouragement. The head of the PNP Regional Office expressed sincere appreciation for the partnership and the support extended to police women, while VP Nancy Berame moved attendees with an emotional poem that underscored the importance of collaboration in uplifting women. Also present were Past President Jane Panganiban, Maria Luisa Rendon, Pearle Strolz and Carmela Baguia.
