Zonta Club of Cebu I’s WE Hub Project earns recognition
The Zonta Club of Cebu I, Philippines, has made a significant impact on women's rights in the Philippines through its Women Empowerment (WE) Hub Project, which has garnered recognition as one of the leading Women's Rights Organizations in the country. This critical initiative received funding support from the Government of Canada via Global Affairs Canada and the PBSP’s Women’s Rights Advocacy and Partnership. On 28 February, the conclusion of this five-year partnership was commemorated with a Closing Event at The Heritage Hotel in Manila, attended by dignitaries, organizational leaders and representatives dedicated to advancing women's rights.
During this momentous celebration, the club was honored with a certificate of appreciation for its unwavering commitment to the empowerment of women through the WE Hub Project. This achievement is a testament to the collective efforts of the club's Board of Directors and members, especially under the visionary leadership of President Melita Ramos. Special acknowledgment was also given to the tireless work of the Violence Against Women and Children Committee, spearheaded by Zontian Pearle Strolz and Director Nancy Berame. Their dedication and advocacy have played a pivotal role in transforming the lives of women across the region, further solidifying the club's position as a leader in women's rights advocacy.
