Zonta Club of Brampton-Caledon takes back the night

The Zonta Club of Brampton-Caledon, Canada, participated in the annual Take Back the Night event, proudly hosting a community booth. This annual event aims to end sexual, relationship and sexual violence. The event brought together locals to reclaim their space and advocate for safety, featuring a march where participants carried signs and chanted slogans like, “Tonight’s the night, to take back the night!”

Club members connected with various social service agencies supported by their financial contributions and advocacy, fostering strong relationships within the community. The evening concluded with a 2 km walk, accompanied by a police escort, during which participants listened to powerful stories from survivors of gender-based violence and took part in a traditional opening smudge ceremony. The club expressed pride in being part of this vital movement.
