Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva partners with nonprofits for Community Collection Day

The Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva, USA, brought back its annual Community Collection Day. The fourth annual event was held on 17 April with collections taking place in the parking area of the Sanibel Congregational United Church.

“We had to cancel last year’s Collection Day due to the coronavirus,” said service and advocacy leader Nancy Swofford. “We were delighted to bring back this important event that helps many of our service partners.”

The event benefited local nonprofits, which work to improve the lives of women and girls. Community members enthusiastically supported the event by bringing gently used and new items for these groups to use in their mission to empower women, a goal shared with Zonta. The drive-through option made it easy to safely drop off items while helping women in the community.

Partners benefiting from this year's collection event included: Abuse Counseling & Treatment of Fort Myers (ACT), Angel Wings, Community Housing & Resources (CHR), FISH of Sanibel-Captiva, Healthy Start, PACE Center for Girls Lee County and Trailways Camp.
