The Zonta Club of Dhaka IV, Bangladesh, celebrated Rose Day and International Women’s Day with an in-person event at the Baridhara Diplomatic Enclave Club. The club decided to commemorate the day by reflecting on current women’s rights issues.
At the event, club members honored four remarkable women who have made an impact for women in their respective area of work. These women have encountered numerous challenges in regards to gender barriers, but they have marched ahead with commitment and determination to promote inclusiveness and in enhance the socio-economic status of their community.
The four outstanding women honored with Rose Day Awards were Salina Akhter, Nazma Akhter, Shantona Rani Roy and Jasmin Nahar. Each of the four awardees were presented with a crest and a sash in recognition of their trailblazing accomplishments.
