Zonta Club of Dhaka IV sponsors workshop on female health

On 7 September, the Zonta Club of Dhaka IV sponsored an Awareness and Advocacy on Women Health Hygiene, Birth Control, and Safety Against COVID-19 workshop. The club realized that underprivileged women and girls were left especially vulnerable during the pandemic. They are also at risk for other health issues stemming from poor menstrual hygiene management and contraception usage. Therefore, the club decided to hold a workshop.

The object of the workshop was to:

  1. Create awareness of correct contraception methods and management of menstrual health at home and work.
  2. To ensure safe and open access to contraception.
  3. To educate others on the health safety protocol of COVID-19, health, and overall hygiene.

The program was organized by the Prorigga Foundation, the Department of Women Affairs, and the Women Development Forum. It took place in the Upazila Parishad Auditorium in Chaddagram, Cumilla. There were over 100 participants, consisting of underprivileged women and girls, their friends and families, and other community members.

At the program, the club president highlighted Zonta’s mission, vision, and goal. The club also created an inspiring video song about violence against women.
