Zonta Club of Makati and Environs celebrates Filipina artists at Sining Filipina awards

The Zonta Club of Makati and Environs, Philippines, proudly hosted the awarding ceremony of Sining Filipina, the first and only all-Filipina art competition in the Philippines. The event was held on 27 March in SM Aura. This pioneering initiative was created to shine a spotlight on Filipina artists, fostering greater recognition and support for women in the creative industry.

Now in its second successful year, the competition continues to grow, with this year’s edition sponsored by Chinabank and SM Supermalls.

The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Madame Roswitha Brieger (wife of the Austrian Ambassador), Chinabank EVP and Head of Financial Markets Segment Ms. Ollie Palanca, Madame Endo Akiko (wife of the Japanese Ambassador) and SM Hotels and Convention Centers President and Chairman Ms. Elizabeth Sy.

Jowee Ann Aguinaldo was named this year’s grand prize winner.

With the theme, “Her Earth, Her Future”, this year’s competition drew hundreds of submissions from across the country, showcasing the immense talent and diversity of Filipina artists. After a rigorous selection process, 10 winners were chosen, each receiving a cash prize and a trophy in recognition of their artistic excellence.

Through Sining Filipina, the club remains committed to empowering women in the arts and elevating their status in the creative sphere.
