Zonta Club of Makati and Environs spread Christmas cheer

On 6 December, the Zonta Club of Makati and Environs Foundation, Inc, Philippines, continued its annual tradition of service through its Christmas Gift Giving Program, distributing 300 Christmas grocery packs to students of Don Bosco TVET–Makati. The initiative, made possible through the collective contributions of ZCME members, aimed to share blessings and bring the spirit of Christmas to the community.

The activity was held at the Braga Building of Don Bosco TVET–Makati and was led by Club President Joanne Zapanta Andrada. She was joined by key leaders and committee heads, including Relief and Disaster Management Chair Ma. Teresa Tan, President-Elect Marcy Chua, Golden Z Club Co-Chair Jocel Labrador, Governance Committee Heads Atty. Ina Magpale and Atty. Ivi Valera, Past President and Adviser Armita B. Rufino, and members of the club staff.

In her remarks, Andrada reaffirmed the club’s mission to uplift those in need and support young individuals striving for a brighter future. “Every year, we are reminded that the true meaning of Christmas lies in sharing our blessings,” she said. “Through the generosity of our members, we are able to touch the lives of these students and remind them that they are seen, valued and supported.”

Each grocery pack included essential food items meant to help students and their families enjoy a more meaningful Christmas. Recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude, filling the atmosphere with warmth and community spirit.

Christmas Celebration

The club's Christmas celebration began with a Mass officiated by Fr. Mario Sobrejuanite, setting a tone of gratitude, peace and reflection for the season. The club was honored by the presence of special guests Mr. and Mrs. Jose Mari Chan, whose warmth and graciousness added joy to the gathering.

The festivities continued at the home of Past Club President Jeannie Abaya, where members enjoyed an evening of laughter, good food, generous surprises and the fellowship that defines the Zonta sisterhood. The club expressed its appreciation to all members for their gifts, support and holiday cheer, and extended special thanks to Jeannie for opening her home and heart to the club.
