Zonta Club of Central Tuguegarao strengthens civic and strategic engagement
The Zonta Club of Central Tuguegarao, Philippines, joined the Civil Society Organization (CSO) Forum at Go Hotels Plus, Tuguegarao City. The forum, themed “Pakikilahok sa Pamamahala: A Multi-Stakeholders Forum,” was organized by the Provincial Government of Cagayan to promote collaboration between local government and civil society groups.
Participants received updates on CSO compliance for forward assistance and a detailed briefing on DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2022-083, which outlines accreditation and participation guidelines for CSOs in local governance bodies. The event also featured a fellowship segment, fostering camaraderie among Cagayan-based organizations.
Club President Josefina Sedano, accompanied by members Marrietta Reyes and Cheryl Beltran, emphasized the club’s commitment to representing women and girls in governance.
Just days later, the club joined District 17 Area 4 leaders for a strategic meeting to coordinate preparations for the District 17 Conference in Macau, set for September 2025. Led by Area Director Racquel C. Reyes-Aglaua, the meeting covered award submissions, district compliance, club credentialing and cultural performance planning under the conference theme “History and Culture.”
Presidents were reminded of key deadlines, including mid-biennium service report submissions and the final cut-off for membership dues. The group also reviewed administrative updates on Z Clubs, Golden Z Clubs and club affiliation agreements.
The session concluded with remarks from Geraldine Sangao, president of the newly formed Zonta Club of Northern Cagayan and Apayao, and the announcement of the nominated Area Director, Ma. Cecille Pua-Phee of Zonta Club of La Union-San Fernando City, and Vice Area Director, Debbie Pulido of Zonta Club of Baguio.
