The Zonta Club of Central Tuguegarao, Philippines, led by Club President Josefina Sedano, held its 13th General Membership Meeting on 30 October at the Villa Blanca Hotel.
The meeting celebrated the club’s triumphant participation in the 23rd Zonta International District 17 Conference in Hong Kong and Macao, where the club earned multiple awards recognizing its service and leadership. Members also outlined upcoming advocacy and service initiatives focused on empowering women and girls.
The agenda highlighted key projects such as the “Dugo Mo, Buhay Ko” Blood Donation Drive and the implementation of guidelines on the Institutionalization and Strengthening of Regional and Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and VAWC (Violence Against Women and their Children). Plans were also made for a joint legal caravan with the Zonta Club of Isabela in Hong Kong on 16 November, and the observance of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
Committee reports covering service, advocacy, environment, membership and youth engagement ensured cohesive planning and collaboration across the club.
During the fellowship portion, members marked United Nations Day in colorful UN-themed costumes, reflecting the spirit of global sisterhood and Zonta’s mission to build a better world for women and girls.
