Bangladesh’s Tangail handloom saree has received Geographical Indication (GI) recognition from UNESCO, marking a significant milestone in preserving and celebrating the country’s rich textile heritage.

Zontian Farhana A. Ahsan, a member of the Zonta Club of Dhaka III, proudly showcased the Tangail saree on the runway during a fashion show highlighting traditional craftsmanship.
