Zonta Club of Hualien II hosts District 31 Area 1 Meeting

The Zonta Club of Hualien II, Taiwan, hosted the District 31 Area 1 Meeting on 14 March, in Hualien, welcoming approximately 220 Zontians and guests from across Taiwan.

The meeting was chaired by Area Director Sylvia Chiu and organized under the leadership of club president Daisy Chen. Organizers described the gathering as an opportunity to strengthen connections, encourage collaboration and support one another.

A highlight of the event was the “Response Market,” which featured women-led initiatives and local industries from eastern Taiwan. The market included handmade crafts and regional specialties, creating a space for community engagement and mutual support. Proceeds from the Zonta Girls booth were dedicated to a scholarship program.

The program opened with a performance by the Zonta Club of Taoyuan band, followed by a series of presentations and discussions. Vivienne Shen delivered a session on developing a one-minute elevator pitch, while District Governor Diana Cheng spoke about Rose Month and the Rose Fund.

During the “Presidents’ Shining Sharing” segment, club presidents reflected on themes of response, gratitude, growth and leadership, sharing their experiences and encouraging continued engagement within the organization.

The luncheon featured a choral performance by the Zonta Club of Taipei II, creating a welcoming atmosphere for conversation and fellowship.

The event was fully planned and executed by members of the Zonta Club of Hualien II, reflecting a collective effort to bring the community together. Participants emphasized the importance of unity, support and shared purpose in advancing Zonta’s mission.
