Zonta Club Antipolo: A voice of compassion for women and children
The Zonta Club of Antipolo, Philippines, is strengthening its role in local governance by advocating for the needs of women and children through active participation in policy-making bodies.
Composed of women leaders, the club serves on several development councils, including the Local Council of Women, Peace and Order Council and other committees focused on health, environment and social services. Through these roles, members work to ensure that the concerns of women and children are represented and addressed in local decision-making.
Organizers said the club’s involvement goes beyond symbolic representation, contributing to initiatives that promote women’s economic empowerment, expand access to health care and education, and raise awareness about protecting vulnerable populations from violence and exploitation.
The club also collaborates with local government units, civil society organizations and community leaders to support inclusive and safe environments for women and children.
Through its continued advocacy and leadership, the Zonta Club of Antipolo aims to advance Zonta International’s mission of building a better world for women and girls, emphasizing the importance of representation and community-based action in creating lasting change.
