Zonta Club of Laguna uplifts women, children and the elderly through inclusive community outreach
The Zonta Club of Laguna, Philippines, continues to champion inclusive outreach through a range of initiatives aimed at empowering women, children and vulnerable groups in San Pedro City and surrounding communities.
As part of its women’s empowerment efforts, the club provided ₱3,000 in financial aid to 1,395 mothers, including pregnant and breastfeeding women. With ₱4.1 million distributed, the initiative improved maternal and child health while addressing the economic challenges of caregiving.
The club also launched the “E-Help Desk for Victims of Abuse and Violence”, a 24/7 confidential online platform offering immediate assistance, legal guidance and connections to crisis centers and social services. This innovative digital resource breaks down access barriers for victims across Laguna.
The club's “Adopt a Lola” outreach program brought comfort and companionship to elderly women at the Mary Mother of Mercy Home. Members distributed care packages and hosted a heartwarming half-day celebration filled with entertainment, bridging generational gaps and fostering dignity.
Youth-focused programs included the Children’s Congress, which served over 850 children with medical checkups, gift-giving, shows, inflatables and meals in partnership with the Congressional Office of Hon. Ann Matibag. The event promoted child wellness and joyful experiences for underprivileged youth.
Additionally, Zontians facilitated the donation of ₱270,000 worth of blended learning materials from Aboitiz Foundation and Aboitiz Power, improving access to quality education for students and teachers adapting to digital and traditional learning environments.
Further extending care to marginalized groups, the club implemented the “Leave NO ONE Behind” outreach for female inmates at San Pedro City Jail. The initiative offered hygiene kits, motivational talks, mental health support and reintegration resources—underscoring the importance of dignity for all women.
Finally, the "Joyful Hearts" Christmas program brought holiday cheer to orphans at Kanlungan sa Erma, with personalized gifts, interactive activities, caroling and warm meals—ensuring that every child felt valued during the festive season.
