The impact of climate change on women and girls
The Zonta Club of Brampton-Caledon, Canada, recently sponsored a Z-Club Mini-Conference with the theme, "The Impact of Climate Change on Women and Girls," bringing together student leaders from the six Z clubs sponsored by the club for a day of education, advocacy and celebration.
The event featured a diverse lineup of speakers, including local and federal politicians, a young climate activist, Zonta district leaders and the Z club members. Each school created a display showcasing their service and advocacy projects, with one school making a special donation to Zonta International.
A highlight of the conference was a fashion show where Z club members modeled outfits made entirely from recycled materials, reinforcing the day’s climate-conscious theme while showcasing student creativity and engagement.
The conference concluded with a celebratory dinner and cake, and each attendee received a goody bag filled with treats. The event was both informative and uplifting—demonstrating the power of youth leadership, community collaboration and Zonta’s mission to elevate equality and advance climate justice.
