Zonta Club of Taoyuan 2025 scholarship award ceremony

The Zonta Club of Taoyuan, Taiwan, believes that education is the only opportunity to transform lives. With this conviction, Past Club President Hsiu-E Chang initiated the establishment of the scholarship committee.

The goal of this committee is to encourage young women who possess leadership skills and a spirit of service, helping them elevate their academic and artistic development while broadening their international horizons. To date, 407 students have been recognized through these awards.

The Zonta Scholarship awards NT$20,000 to female students in college or university programs, including master’s and doctoral studies, as well as high school and vocational students. A Financial Aid (Bursary) of NT$10,000 supports female high school and vocational students and may be renewed through graduation. Eligible applicants must study in or have household registration in Taoyuan City, maintain strong academic and conduct records, and provide evidence of leadership or professional achievement with a teacher’s recommendation.

The scholarship fund is sustained through generous community support, including charity sales, donations and member contributions. A highlight of the awards ceremony came when Club President Phoenix Liu shared her personal journey—from former scholarship recipient to presenter—joined by her homeroom teacher, underscoring the program’s lasting impact.

Club leaders thanked the scholarship committee for its careful review process and encouraged qualified students to continue striving and apply again in 2025.
