Z and Youth Clubs in Bangladesh launch sustainable water supply project

A new initiative led by Z and Youth members in Bangladesh from five Zonta clubs—Dhaka I, Dhaka II, Dhaka III, Dhaka IV and Greater Dhaka—is bringing safe drinking water to some of the city’s most vulnerable communities.

Guided by District 25 Z and Youth Club Chair Nasreen Khan, the Z and Youth members joined forces to raise funds for the project. Together, they collected BDT 1,10,000 (about US$1,000), enough to install a high-quality water filtration system.

The system will provide a reliable source of clean drinking water for underprivileged schoolchildren, rickshaw pullers and others struggling to access safe water in Dhaka’s streets.

The initiative was marked by a symbolic first glass of clean water shared by the Z and Youth members. Organizers described the moment as a pledge to continue fighting for dignity, health and the basic human right to safe water.

“We are proof that when hearts unite, even the smallest drops can create ripples of hope that reach far beyond what we imagine," the members proclaimed.
