Zonta Club of Taipei I promotes sustainable public welfare

The Zonta Club of Taipei I, Taiwan, responded to the Simaxian Tribe’s “Rebuild Our Homeland” project by adopting plum trees and supporting sustainable public welfare initiatives. Through the project, residents gain both work opportunities and a means to give back to their community.

As part of the initiative, club members harvested plums and produced jam for charity sales, with proceeds directed toward tribal reconstruction and social welfare programs. Organizers emphasized that the effort not only raises funds but also fosters long-term sustainability in community development.

The project began last year when the Taipei Lions Club adopted five plum trees. This year, members, led by their club president, enjoyed fruit picking and continued their commitment by selling homemade jam to further benefit the Simaxian Tribe.

In addition, the Zonta Club of Taipei I donated fresh fruit to the Child Welfare League Center, an organization the club has long supported, ensuring that more families could benefit from the harvest.
