Zonta Club of Makati and Environs celebrates sustainable Filipino fashion
Members of the Zonta Club of Makati and Environs, Philippines, showed strong support for Bayo Creative Director and Club UN Day Committee Chairperson Anna Lagon at the launch of Lamina 2025, a visionary cultural and fashion advocacy event rooted in sustainability and Filipino creativity.
The launch took place at the Grand Ballroom of City of Dreams Manila, where the venue was transformed into a dynamic living gallery—merging textiles and technique, sculpture and runway, to celebrate the intersection of art, fashion and sustainability. The event marked the start of a three-day immersive experience highlighting artistic collaboration and conscious design.
Lamina 2025 champions circular economy principles and reimagines luxury through sustainable production, local community involvement and cultural storytelling. Featuring more than 30 of the Philippines’ leading visual artists and designers, the exhibit fused heritage with innovation across both gallery spaces and fashion presentations. Its name, drawn from the Latin word lamina meaning “layer,” reflects the event’s multidimensional narrative.
The project is a collaboration between ManilArt, commemorating its 17th year of promoting Philippine visual arts, and Bayo Atelier, celebrating three decades of fashion innovation and environmental responsibility. The launch also spotlighted Bayo’s longstanding partnership with the United Nations Global Compact in promoting ethical business practices.
Club members praised Lamina 2025 for its powerful message on sustainability and its role in empowering women in the creative industries. Their participation underscored the club's commitment to supporting community-led initiatives that foster meaningful change through service, advocacy and innovation.
