Small steps, big impact
The Zonta Club of Greater Dhaka, Bangladesh, continued its annual support of visually impaired students by sponsoring five students and introducing a new collection of Braille books.
The initiative, part of the club’s ongoing efforts, focuses on providing resources that help students build independence and navigate daily life.
This year’s activities included the inauguration of the Braille book collection alongside a Rose Day gathering with students and faculty. The event provided an opportunity for participants to connect, share stories and celebrate together.
Students engaged with the new materials by reading from the Braille books, highlighting the impact of accessible educational resources. Some participants traveled from Khagrachori in the Chittagong Hill Tracts to attend the event.
In observance of Ramadan, the club also provided an iftar for attendees.
Club President Anhara Siddiky said the initiative reflects the importance of consistent, sustained support, noting that even small efforts can make a meaningful difference in expanding opportunities for students.
