Scholarship Fund Project

The Zonta Club of Accra, Ghana, visited the Pilot Technical Institute in Kokomlemle, Accra, to donate tools to female students on 18 March. The event was attended by club members, school staff and students, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting girls in technical education. Building on the success of the first donation made to the school on 4 June last year, the club once again demonstrated its dedication to empowering women and girls.

During the visit, the club donated tools to ten first-year female students enrolled in traditionally male-dominated programs, including electronics, mechanical engineering, general electricals, architectural drawing and welding and fabrication. This support enhances their practical training and equips them with the resources needed to succeed in their studies and future careers.

By promoting gender equality through the empowerment of women and girls in education and skills development, the club is creating more equitable opportunities for girls pursuing technical and vocational careers, while easing the financial burden of acquiring tools.

Generous contributions from club members made this donation possible. By sustaining this effort and creating a lasting impact, the club aims to strengthen its commitment to advancing women and girls and to continue this initiative annually.

Beyond providing practical support, the donation inspires confidence, ambition and a sense of possibility among the beneficiaries. This contribution to the local community encourages more young women to enter male-dominated fields, promoting their inclusion in the skilled workforce.
